Description
The Shouhou Kiln is a well known studio in Tokoname, Aichi. Born in 1927, Master craftsman Koie Katsurakichi (鯉江桂吉) has won numerous awards over the course of his career.
The tea pot features a matte green glaze overlaid with a grape motif made using gold leaf. While black clay is used, the inside and handle also utilizes a thin layer of matte black glaze.
